No Last Sunday I went, Finally, know the Alverca Palace, the famous Casa do Alentejo. Because always appeared photos porch on my instagram feed, and I thought, must know this place.

And now yes, I can talk about it for you. Check out the post and the photos in the gallery.

The Palace is located in the center of Lisbon and not everyone knows it, and above all, It is super easy to get. When leaving the Rossio metro, located on the green line, we walk 5 minutes, Finally, we were already at the door of the palace Alverca.

First of all, at the entrance I was already admired as much detail in the neo-Arab construction and colors chosen to represent the Alentejo. I was a good few minutes there watching everything, of course, taking pictures.

The construction of the palace is the seventeenth century, but the current route is 1914 and made by Silva Junior Architect. The azuleijo blends perfectly with the painting and were made by Jorge Colaço.

The Alverca Palace was once known as the Majestic Casino Club, in 1919. It was a luxurious and elitist place, Above all, attended only by members of high society partners Lisbon. Because of Revolution 1945, the Casa do Alentejo, It has become even more popular and open to all visitors.

The name Casa do Alentejo, It came from the Regionalist Alentejo Association, which was organized to bring together the Alentejo migrants living in Lisbon. The association promotes work to promote and preserve the culture of Alentejo, the food and wine. Conducting book presentations, poetry sessions, temporary exhibitions, thematic conferences, gastronomic weeks and more. To learn more please visit: Casa do Alentejo.

After a glimpse of the main courtyard, We headed toward the second floor of the Palace Alverca, We went up the main staircase and come across a staircase that leads to the restaurant and showroom. If I thought I would not be surprised, I totally wrong.

I went straight to the showroom and fell in love with the ceiling paintings and frames, the stained glass windows and the huge chandeliers, I felt even in a movie, while there, already envisioned the prom, couples dancing and the clothes of the time.

This tour was a surprise, I loved to know the Casa do Alentejo. I think there's no way to describe the feeling of being in a place with so much history, and my imagination flew, as compulsive reader, that I am, and who loves history and period films.

I hope you enjoyed the post and photos and will be very happy with the comments, let one here, tell me what you think. And if you already knew, tell me also 😉

To the next!
